The story

Software developer, founder, father of four. German, living in the Brazilian countryside. This is how that happened.

1985

Born in Freiburg. As a baby I was already tagging along to Furtwangen University while my father studied there.

1986

My first sister was born.

1988

Second sister born; we moved to Ludwigsburg.

1989

Third sister born.

1991

We moved to Neuwied.

1997

From Neuwied to Döttesfeld.

2006

Abitur.

2007

Bundeswehr: three months in Todendorf (Panker) near Kiel, six months at the Heeresführungskommando in Koblenz, then three more as a reservist.

2008

Started Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen — and quickly noticed I was more at home in computer science. Living in Aachen.

2009

Switched to Computer Science in Furtwangen. Living in Furtwangen.

2011

A year in Mexico: Puebla (Volkswagen) and San Luis Potosí (studying at Tec de Monterrey).

2012

B.Sc. Computer Science; started working at Ingenieurbüro Deusing.

2013

Began the Computer Science Master. Living in Freiburg.

2014

Moved to Döttesfeld, working at IB Deusing.

2015

Started a PhD (Furtwangen + Karlsruhe) alongside IB Deusing and freelance projects; moved back to Freiburg.

2016

Met my wife in Freiburg. Born in Ribeirão Claro (PR), Brazil, she had moved to Germany at 14; she trained as a chef (an Ausbildung as Köchin) and went on to study Food Technology.

2017

Married. Stopped the PhD to focus on freelance work.

2018

Founded twiceD Technology GmbH; moved to Opfingen (still Freiburg). First child born — my first son.

2019

Second child born — my first daughter.

2022

Emigrated to Brazil in October. First stop: Barra Grande, on the coast near Salvador.

2023

Moved to Ribeirão Claro, Paraná — my wife's home town, where we live now.

2024

Third child born — my second son.

2026

Fourth child born — my second daughter.

today

Two sons and two daughters. Father and two of the kids born in Freiburg, mother and the other two in Ribeirão Claro — building software from the interior of Brazil.

# the barra grande years

# wildlife at the door

A small monkey visiting near the house.

We found this scorpion in the house — about 10 cm from my foot while I was working. My wife spotted it.
